Universal Orlando September 2016
Welcome to September, also know as the month we take a Chance on a little freakish, foolish, zombie filled little event we have all come to love know as Halloween Horror Nights.
The event officially kicked off on the 16th for another horrific run of nights this month and next.
Looking to take a Chance this HHN? Try one of the new specialty drinks available at the event:
- Chance’s Kiss — This one’s my personal favorite. It’s a delicious mix of Don Q Coconut Rum, Margaritaville Spiced Rum, Watermelon Schnapps and fruit juices.
- Chance’s Curse – There’s a chance you might be cursed with Seagrams Vodka, Raspberry Liqueur, Blue Curacao, sour mix and orange juice.
- Mayhem Madness — Can’t decide between the two? This is the best of both worlds: a combination of both drinks that create a sick ombré color effect.
Or maybe brew up a little mayhem
- Clown Crew Brew — A medium bodied rustic ale balanced with mild bitterness and a sweet finish.
- Halloween Horror Nights Pumpkin Ale — Delivering a mild pumpkin flavor with an aroma of spices, rounded out by a variety of three English malts. It’s like a liquid pumpkin pie!
On the topic of food, the Scareactor Dining Experience returns this year.
This all-you-care-to-eat dinner with a scareactor is the prefect way to fuel up before the horror begins.
Need some HHN merchandise? Well there is a store for that near the Revenge of the Mummy entrance.
Even while this huge special event is taking place, Universal Construction crews are working hard on projects all around the resort.
A new wall has been spun near Spiderman, though it is a bit of a twisted spot for a wall, I am sure if we call Auntie May, or maybe her sister, we can figure out something about the wall.
Over at Race Through New York starring Jimmy Fallon, it seems the facade work is feverishly underway. Over the past few weeks, glass panels have been installed on the front of the building, as well as, steel structures along the top of the building to, what I would assume, hold more facade structures in the coming weeks.
However one race has finished on this project, the race to the bathroom is a lot closer now with the reopening of the restrooms attached to the aft of the building.
The massive changes to the new Coca Cola experience retail/bar/whatever this will actually be, seems to be nearing a completion.
Glass has now been installed and a final shape and feel of the venue are coming together.
Lots of new steel has been erected at the Fast and Furious site, though no real distinguishing characteristics are in place yet, this massive project is slowly coming together.
Now that The Incredible Hulk is roaring around once again and we have all ridden, lets talk marquees. Over on the UO Blog they released some of the details about this massive part of the new ride.
Speaking of Hulk, you can take the music home with you now, smash your way over to the UO Blog where you can download ringtones of the on-board audio from the attraction.
Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Chocolate Emporium officially opened its sweet doors to the public. We had the chance to try it out during the preview before opening and were quite impressed by the new addition to CityWalk.
Though it is of note, that the main marquee sign has already been replaced. This makes us think the full sign may have not been ready for opening and thus a temporary one has held its place until now. The new sign has some depth incorporated into it, where as, the older sign appeared to be more a flat, possibly industrially printed sign.
This one has us saying: Feet don’t Fail me now, no feet don’t fail me now. Mardi Gras expands to 49 consecutive nights February 4th to March 24th with 12 select nights featuring concerts.
Rounding out this month, Volcano Bay construction is progressing quickly.
