UPDATED 10/20: Last night we took our first rides on Top Thrill Dragster in almost a month! Thanks again to the wonderful maintenance teams at the park! Check out our Facebook live video of the first train below:
UPDATED 10/19: Through the wonderful and devoted efforts of the maintenance crews, we are now hearing we can expect Top Thrill Dragster to make a return to operation tomorrow evening when the park opens for the 2nd to last weekend of Halloweekends. This news coming as speculation only but from our sources inside the park we hear pending any last minute set-backs Top Thrill Dragster WILL be open. Again this was highly unexpected given the severity of the situation we heard and saw over the past several weeks. We look forward to Racing for the Sky once more! As always be sure stick with our social for more on this and all the fun at Cedar Point!
With just 5 weekends left in the operating season for America’s Roller Coast, it appears their tallest and fastest may not participate.
Yesterday Top Thrill Dragster went down early and later in the day barricades were added. These are a usual sign that a ride is gonna be down for awhile.
Today, we noticed maintenance working in the catch car brakes area of the launch track.
With the cable slack it could also mean the catch car is detached from the cable so the catch car could be broken as well.
This is likely a catch car, or cable issue and at this point in the year would likely sideline the coaster for a good bit of time.
We will have to wait and see if it is truly done for the season but this definitely isn’t the first time the coaster decided to start its off-season early!
As this developments keep it tuned to our social accounts where we will provide updates as we get them!
