June 10th just got a whole lots more exciting at SeaWorld as the park has announced the Summer of Mako event:
The event will encourage families to explore the park and be inspired to take action to protect our ocean.
The event is of course headlined by the opening of Mako June 10th! We’ve been bringing you updates on Mako since our site launch and we are excited it is getting so close!
Next up, guests who have ever wanted to touch a shark will get their chance this summer at the Relaxation Station near Wild Arctic. Guests will have the opportunity to touch and learn about brown-banded bamboo sharks, white-spotted bamboo sharks, and epaulette sharks. Part of the station is currently already behind walls, as we first reported via our social channels and in SeaCast
Next up an interactive game, as guests will have the chance to join a frenzied race around SeaWorld Orlando for some of the tallest, fastest, and longest creatures that call the ocean home!
Guests up for the Mako challenge, can make a difference and those who complete will have a $1 donation made in their name to the SeaWorld Busch Gardens Conservation fund that benefits conservation project all over the world!
Throughout the park, even more animal ambassadors, educators and animal experts are stationed to share information and stories about the animals in our care and provide up-close meet and greets, scheduled feedings and fun surprises. Park guests can pick-up a Summer of Mako guide and park map for specific times and locations. You can meet someone like Henry the owl, or Falcor the Tawny Frogmouth:
On SeaWorld’s Waterfront area of the park guests will notice a Block Party come to life with live music and street entertainment:
Lots of Mako treats are also being added to the park including something we first reported on a couple of months ago! Mako Blast a SeaWorld Exclusive Coca-Cola Freestyle Mix!
Also in the food and beverage realm will be a honey-vanilla flavored shark cookie, a specialty alcoholic beverage only available at Shark’s Underwater Grill; and Mako American Red Ale, a SeaWorld exclusive brew available in several locations around SeaWorld.
Finally for the Summer of Mako, Shamu’s Celebration: Light Up the Night will be returning June 18th!
