Six Flags New England Collects Cell Phones for Chimpanzees
Six Flags New England invites guests to come celebrate Earth Day on Saturday, April 23 by bringing an old cell phone to be recycled. As in incentive for bringing a device, guest will receive $20.16 off the Main Gate admission.
Cell phones contain valuable minerals, including gold, tin, tungsten and tantalum. These minerals are being mined in Africa and destroying forests and habitats for chimpanzees.
As an added bonus for attending, kids, of all sizes, will be invited to touch, interact and play with animals from the Zoo in Forest Park as they learn about the importance of protecting wildlife and their habitats. The zoo is now reconstructing the home of their resident camel Max. For a $1 donation, you can be apart of the decoration for his new home by coloring a printout of Max to be proudly displayed on the wall of his new home.
