One of the most exciting months is recent SeaWorld Orlando history is coming to a close so let’s take a look at all the action going on around the park!
Starting of with the biggest news first; Mako has opened to much fanfare and excitement! Our opening week and final construction report on the coaster we covered so much shows the days leading up to grand opening!
Along with Mako, SeaWorld announced the Summer of Mako event! This event is taking place now through August 7th!
We gave a full rundown of all the special treat and park wide scavenger hunt in a recent post.
At neighboring waterpark Aquatica, Island Nights is returning July 9th and will run through August 6th. It is a chance to play at one of Orlando’s best waterparks a little later into the day and even night!
Back to SeaWorld along the Waterfront area of gift shops a special Guy Harvey shop has moved in with even more art and souvenirs available:
Moving over to one of the newly refreshed exhibits we find our animal of the month:
We’re mot sure if this new little one has a name yet but she is one cute little California Sea Lion:
Did you know over the past few years there has been catastrophic events in the eastern edge of the Pacific Ocean and without the help of SeaWorld many more Sea Lions and their babies like the one above would have sadly perished.
With help from the SeaWorld Busch Gardens Conservation Fund, many organizations were able to receive extra money to help care for the thousands of stranded creatures from several events over the past few years would have sadly perished. This site is proud to support and share the message of conservation and proudly supports the fund.
Speaking of helping animals, the mother and calf manatee we told you about last month?
I’m happy to reported both are doing well and were released back into the wild on June 24th. Always great when SeaWorld can do all three steps of the process.
The animal care team also shared an update on Tilikum’s condition:
But this month we can share that SeaWorld isn’t just helping animals they are helping people. Earlier this month the company awarded 4 students $5,000 each via the park’s Environmental Scholarship Program Rewards. The students and their families also received a behind the scenes tour of SeaWorld Orlando, a meet and greet with a Sea Lion after a Sea Lion High show, front row ride on Mako, and tablets to take with them to college in the fall. Congratulations and thanks for making an ocean of difference everyone!
For annual pass members in the month of July we receive 2 benefits.
First, free car magnets will be distributed in the park, most likely on the waterfront gift-shop, beginning July 1st and only available while supplies last!
Second, If you are in the park on the 4th of July for the stunning fireworks show, pass members and up to 2 guests get reserved seating at Bayside Stadium.
Reminder for everyone that the Bayside event pathway will be open for everyone on the 4th of July serving all sorts of brew, BBQ and more!
Finally, remember that musical artist, Lee Greenwood, will play Bayside Stadium on July 2nd and 3rd:
In our food find this month we feature the one of the best Shrimp Tempura dishes I have ever had. For more on this dish and a full review on one of the best theme park restaurants I have ever eaten, at check out our Sharks Underwater Grill Review!
Well that about wraps everything up for the monthly recap of a very exciting month at SeaWorld Orlando! Be sure to make it to the park and Light Up the Night!
