Well the end of August is here and were onto the beginnings of Florida cooler season, I hope! Either way, the Summer Celebrations have ended at SeaWorld. Despite the park closing early some of the Summer of Mako signs are still around the park!

The park is closing early for now, most days at 6 P.M. but be sure to check the park hours here!

Next up event wise for the park will be SeaWorld’s Halloween Spooktacular and we’ll have more info on that most likely in mid-September. The park has announced an event for 9/10 and 9/11 though with the children’s music sensation Choo Choo Soul performing both days! Concerts are included with park admission and take place inside the Nautilus Theater at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Mosquito bite prevention has begun at all local theme parks, and SeaWorld is no exception!

Across the street from SeaWorld, at Discovery Cove, Coral, the first dolphin born at Discovery Cove turned 16 this month:

In mid-August the SeaWorld rescue team traveled to Texas to help the SeaWorld San Antonio team with an entangled dolphin.

After hours of searching, the devoted rescue teams retrieved the dolphin and removed more than three pounds of fishing gear that entangled the animal, including hooks, leaders, fishing line and more.

Once the dolphin was rescued and de-tangled, a SeaWorld Veterinarian and Animal Care Staff assessed the animal, gave it a complete physical checkup, took blood samples and cultures and gave the dolphin antibiotics for possible infection due to the entanglement. The animal was released back in to the ocean.

Jack Hannah stopped by the park on 8/20 and 8/21 to share knowledge about animals and as always tell a few funny stories!

On August 16th, we were invited to join fellow bloggers and coaster enthusiasts from ACE to go on a coaster crusade in honor of National Roller Coaster Day! We started our trek at SeaWorld by riding all of their coaster and that includes Shamu Express  as well as Journey to Atlantis.

Afterwards we were bused to Busch Gardens Tampa to conquer all their thrills. Unfortunately, our adventure was cut short by the uncooperative Florida weather. We still had a blast and it was a great way celebrate the day!

Our friends over at ACE (American Coaster Enthusiasts) are having 2 events in Florida parks in November! Starting at SeaWorld  Orlando, with Mako me Happy!

On Sunday, November 13, 2016, we will be hosting an event at SeaWorld Orlando. This event will include ERT (exclusive ride time) on Mako, complimentary parking, all-you-can eat lunch buffet at the Sea Harbor Pavilion, complimentary Shopper’s Pass good for 10% off merchandise, a very special guest speaker, and door prizes. We are very happy to report that in this time of exponential increases in park admission costs, we were able to price this event for $78 ($33 for passholders), which is over $20 lower than a one-day full price admission without all of the benefits of this event. Non ACE members are welcome to attend for an additional fee.
