New Hotel and More coming to Disneyland Resort in 2021
Some exciting news out of Anaheim yesterday as Disneyland Resort announced a new hotel and parking structure! A new hotel is a first for the resort in over 20 years and brings forth lots of projected change for the western end of Downtown Disney:
As you can see from the above concept art released on the Disney Parks Blog post, the new hotel appears to wipe out AMC Theaters, Earl of Sandwich, Rainforest Cafe, and ESPN Zone.
It should be noted, however, that the post does say the ground level will feature shops and dining. So we could see some of the lost restaurants above re-imagined inside the hotel. Another dining location will be in an upper level of the hotel offering fireworks views.
For those worried it appears the LEGO store will be spared:
The 700-room hotel will feature a sophisticated design , with dining and entertainment. The hotel’s location embraces Disneyland Monorail with a dedicated platform inside the hotel for direct transport into Disneyland park.
This platform will be where the current platform is located in Downtown Disney. Also seen in the concept below, guest rooms will offer views of Downtown Disney and the hotel will feature nature on every level as well as cool water elements:
Coming sooner than the hotel and projected to open in time for Star Wars Land is a new parking structure that will add 6,500 parking spaces. The structure will be built next to the Mickey and Friends structure on what is currently the Pinocchio lot:
