We just couldn’t wait a whole week to share all that is new at Mako. So let’s splash right in, the countdown to official opening is just 13 days away!

Let’s start with some a really exciting set of pictures, the walls are finally starting to come down around the entrance and near the main lagoon where a fence reported on a couple of weeks ago is now built. But the best sight is the entrance area to the ride:

Just to the left of the entrance area we can see the lockers and rental kiosks for them are now in place:

Also today, Reef’s Treasures gift shop opened this is the shop that will be at the exit of the ride; notice the ride photo stand and some themeing on the ceiling:

Here’s a look where riders will come from after experiences the ride and heading into Reef’s Treasures:

There are lots of great souvenirs and merchandise to buy in here, including some of the same Guy Harvey items we showed you at the currently unnamed gift shop once known as Fins:

Speaking of Fins, remember these marks that were outside both sides of the shop?

As we predicted, more themeing has gone into place and looks like there are supports for another sign. Stay tuned to find out if Fins will still be the name of the gift shop!

Speaking of themeing some of the supports that were gray are now getting a coat of false rust type themeing:

We mentioned Guy Harvey above and finally all the cranes and barricades from his mural have moved away giving us a nice view of the overall artwork and of course it looks great! We have been told that Guy Harvey will be back on Mako’s media day to ride and we hope to meet him and bring you an interview!

The Coke Freestyle truck, we reported on in our last update, has opened as Shark Treats serving some snacks and flat-bread pizzas. Still no sign of that Mako flavor yet but were still watching for it!

Closing out our exciting update, we take a look all around Shark Wreck Reef for the new educational themeing signs being put in all over the place!

Thanks for the continued updates of this ride! I can’t believe how far the queue and theming has come in a relatively short period of time. Soft opening should be pretty darn soon!

      Thank you for reading them!
With it officially opening in around a week, I agree with you on the soft openings should come very soon. The queue is going to be spectacular. Brian Morrow does an amazing job themeing and designing great attractions.
