Legoland Florida celebrates new MiniLand addition
Racers start your engines! words you would not typically expect to hear at LEGOLAND Florida, but on Monday June 20th those words rang loudly from Miniland.
In celebration of Daytona International Speedways massive 400 million dollar makeover, the 1/20 scale speedway replica, inside of the parks Miniland area, has received an extensive renovation so that it reflects the same details as the speedways new look.
Of course there is no better way to open a racing inspired addition than with a race, Legoland Florida hosted the first Miniland 400 to officially open the new display.
The dueling race was between NASCAR Driver Casey Mears and Make-A-Wish, in conjunction with Merlin’s Magic Wand, participant Layla Popoff.
The race, as the title suggests, had the drivers racing through the Miniland area to a bricktastic finish by the new Daytona International Speedway model.
Though it was a close race, Layla won.
After the race, Casey Mears placed a Lego replica of his car inside of the new model’s victory circle.
Then proceed to meet with fans and share some racing advice inside of the parks newly re-imagined Imagination Zone.
