Dollywood Drops its Plans for the Upcoming Months
In the 2017 season Dollywood will drop you into the canyon.
Next season, Dollywood will add two brand new family thrill rides to their already stellar line up of attractions.
First, a 200 foot free fall drop tower will be dropped in to Timber Canyon.
Riders will have the chance to experience incredible views of the Smoky Mountains before plummeting 20 stories back to ground level.
This attraction sounds like it will be going where Timber Tower (Rest in Pieces) once stood between Thunderhead and Mystery Mine attractions.
The second new attraction will be a family coaster, likely from Zamperla, called Whistle Punk Chaser. The ride will be aimed at those under the 48″ MHR of Thunderhead and promises to throw exciting twists and turns at Dollywood’s younger loggers.
The park also will welcome enra to the park. This Tokyo-based dance company will present their interactive show. The show consists of high-energy multi-media dance, light and video fused into a live spectacular. As a bit of a techie and show nerd, this is going to be a great show to see. I absolutely love the technology at the hear of this show.
Additionally, the park will FINALLY be adding a night-time “Halloween” event next season with the addition of GREAT! Pumpkin LumiNights to the current Harvest Festival, This new event will immerse families in fabulous fall pumpkin illumination, with a pumpkin trail after dark featuring several spectacular pumpkin displays glowing with the colors of fall.
Of course this is all in addition to the brand new TailSpin Racer next door at Splash Country.
Dollywood’s other two properties also recently announced their upcoming plans for the Holiday season.
Dolly’s LumberJack Adventure will dust off the holiday axes for some family Christmas tree fun on November 4th for their inaugural holiday season with amazing lumberjack skills, incredible acts of acrobatic agility and breathtaking aerial performances as they explore the hillsides for Christmas Trees while they discover the true meaning of Christmas.
While, just down the Parkway, Dolly’s Dixie Stampede will debut its holiday show on November 1st, this year the show will feature the all new 12.5 million LED wall installed between seasons which will only add to this spectacular show.
