DollyWood Adds More Entertainment to the Smokies
Dolly Parton, the matriarch of the Pigeon Forge, Tennessee theme park, recently unveiled the 2018 entertainment offerings calling it the year of showstoppers.
It all kicks off on March 17th with the Festival of Nations, featuring National Dance Company of Siberia, The Flamenco Kings starring Los Vivancos, and Ladysmith Black Mambazo. The festival celebrates nations from around the world until April 9th.
New this year, Spring Mix music series brings artists to the park for this three-week event. The first week brings artists, Dollywood entertainment alumnus, Bogguss, Sheppard, Pam Tillis, Gayle, Connie Smith and Shenandoah to the park. While week two features: Amy Grant, The Blind Boys of Alabama, Larnelle Harris, David Phelps and comedienne Chonda Pierce – also known as “The Queen of Clean.” The last week will be The Marshall Tucker Band , The Drifters , Debby Boone , The Atlanta Rhythm Section , Firefall , and Al Stewart.
Individual concert dates and show times will be announced at a later date; however, these concerts are expected to take place in the new entertainment venue where the former River Battle once stood.
Already hailed as one of the nations premier bluegrass events, Dollywood’s Barbeque & Bluegrass add anther week to the event of delicious food and hometown music from acts such as Grammy and IBMA winner Rhonda Vincent & The Rage, and IMBA winners Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver, Dailey & Vincent, and many more. The barbecue will be on the table May 25- June 10.
Dollywood comes alive this summer with great entertainment from iLuminate (finalists on America’s Got Talent in 2011), Dan Dunn (America’s favorite speed painter) brings his innovative and mesmerizing PaintJam to Dollywood and DRUMLine Live! rocks the park with riveting rhythms, bold beats and ear-grabbing energy.
Rock the Smokies returns on August 25 with TobyMac and Crowder serving as headliners while other christian music artists fill the air around the park.
Dollywood’s Harvest Festival returns Sept. 28 – Nov. 3 with an expansion of the new Great Pumpkin LumiNights and the largest Southern gospel event in America with several hundred performances by Southern gospel royalty during the day. Then after the fall sun sets on the park, thousands of carved pumpkins illuminate the dark with an expanded number of displays and activities for families to enjoy. Guests can also enjoy the artistry of visiting crafters from across the country, and sample the special food items from Dollywood’s award-winning foods team.
Smoky Mountain Christmas wraps Dollywood’s 2018 season again. America’s favorite theme park holiday event, for a decade will fill the hills with holiday air Nov. 10, 2018 – Jan. 5, 2019. With over four million spectacular lights, classic holiday entertainment including the timeless Christmas in the Smokies and It’s a Wonderful Life, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Friends, and the heartwarming Parade of Many Colors.
