Thursday 6/16 brought us the opening media day for Busch Gardens Tampa newest coaster Cobra’s Curse!

But Cobra’s Curse represents more than just a family roller coaster. It represents a great family attraction with a great story of The Snake King. As we approach the entrance, we can already see the unearthed realm of the Snake King:

The queue itself is an attraction with a real, live, snake exhibit and the story of the excavation crew’s efforts and findings.

The queue culminates in burial chamber 2 where we see the Snake King showing just some of his wrath.

Cobra’s Curse also represents a new family attraction that just happens to be a coaster and many of the park’s representatives, including park president Jim Dean are just eager to talk about:

As we previously told you in our construction updates, the loading platform is a continuous loading style allowing for optimal efficiency and can run up to 8 trains at once:

So now that we’re on the platform might as well take a ride! Here’s our reverse POV on ride video:

The coaster and newly enhanced themed area is definitely a great new show piece for Busch Gardens Tampa:

Now that we’ve highlighted the new area in pictures; here is some short snippets of the queue and coaster in action! I’ve captioned different areas for ease of viewing:

Also just like Mako at SeaWorld Orlando, Cobra’s Curse has its own Coca-Cola Freestyle flavor called Cobra’s Twissst. Be sure to check it out at Serpent’s Snacks:

Finally be sure to check out the coaster’s gift shop when exiting so you can remember how you escaped the curse of The Snake King! The best part is no cursed ride will ever be the same with the free spinning on the 3rd section of the ride, after the 2nd lift hill!
