2 New Hotels Announced for former Wet ‘N’ Wild Site ~ Universal Orlando
Universal announced its latest hotel expansion plans today with not one, but 2 new value priced resorts. Nightly rates at the pair of hotels will start at less than $100/night. All of the benefits offered at the other resort hotels will be extended to the 2 new hotels. Also a shuttle providing guests transport from the I-Drive location to the trio of parks:
The resort is still calling the hotels a destination unto themselves with “sun, surf, sand, and a laid- back feel”. Two food-courts, three pools, and poolside bars are highlights to the amenities. Pretty average for an Orlando based value resort. The two new hotels will be the seventh and eighth hotels to the resort and add 2,800 guest rooms. This includes 1,450 two-bedroom suites for families of all sizes. Once these hotels open it will bring the resort guest room count to 9,000.
The duo of hotels will be built where in the last 2 years we watched the demolition of the classic waterpark, Wet ‘n’ Wild. Built on a 64 acre site, at the corner of International Dr & Universal Blvd.
Wet ‘n’ Wild was closed prior to the opening Volcano Bay, Universal’s newer, more modernized waterpark:
Reservations will start in early 2018 and the hotels will begin opening in early 2019. Stay tuned to our social accounts for more information as it becomes available on this and other projects at Universal Orlando and beyond:
